Clinical Mobile Communication Impacts Patient Care Quality
72% of nurse managers and IT executives cite improved quality of patient care as a direct result of clinical mobility, according to a recent study by Zebra Technologies. 61% of hospitals with clinical mobility reported a reduction in medication errors and 52% reported a reduction in specimen labeling errors. Authors note that "a lack of real-time patient health information at the bedside is the biggest barrier to achieving optimal patient care in hospitals globally," and 60% of IT executives cite communication between nurses, physicians, and health systems as a top area needing improvement.
