Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Security Health Plan - Wisconsin

Witt/Kieffer, an executive search firm with over 40 years of experience, has been retained by Security Health Plan to conduct an executive recruitment for their Chief Medical Officer (CMO). We invite nominations and applications for qualified individuals for this exciting opportunity.

Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc. is the only health maintenance organization sponsored by Marshfield Clinic. As a physician – directed health plan, Security Health Plan was established in 1986 as an outgrowth of the Greater Marshfield Community Health Plan, which began in 1971. Serving more than 175,000 people in a 32-county area in northern, western and central Wisconsin, Security Health Plan offers a network of 42 affiliated hospitals, more then 3,800 affiliated physicians and other providers, over 55,000 pharmacies nationwide, offers policies for large and small groups, and individuals and families of all ages and income levels.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Security Health Plan (SHP “Plan”) will report to and partner with the Plan's Chief Administrative Officer to accomplish the goals and objectives approved by the Plan's Board. The CMO is responsible for providing leadership to the Plan’s medical directors and has administrative responsibilities for all medical management and pharmacy programs. The CMO will partner with the Health Services and Pharmacy Directors to provide leadership for all activities within those departments. The CMO also serves as a leader and senior member of the Plan's Strategic Steering Team and participates in strategic planning and policy development. The CMO is available as a resource to all areas of the Plan on an as needed basis.

A Medical Doctorate degree or Doctorate of Osteopathy is required. An unrestricted M.D. degree with license or the ability to obtain a license to practice medicine in Wisconsin is necessary. The individual must have at least ten years of experience in medical practice in addition to at least eight years experience as a health plan medical director or similar leadership position in the health care industry. Must possess an understanding of healthcare and medical economics in managed healthcare and be able to apply this knowledge in the day-to-day activities of this position.
