Calculator

The Calculator section of the Utilization Folder is used to calculate your capitation rate for each model selected. If you have baseline data, you can use the calculator to calculate your assumptions based on your data. Units is imported from the Specifications section of the Parameters Folders. Value is entered as total number of units incurred during specified time period. Either the Member Months or Members box must be selected, and the corresponding Value entered.

You must calculate this value if necessary:

  1. Member months is the cumulative members for each month during the specified time period or

  2. Members is the average or constant number of members during the specified time period; months is the number of months during the time period.

You may also select: Use as Utilization value to enter this data into your model.

When ready, click the Calculate button to calculate the capitation rate.
